U11 Finals wrap and Award winners

Play may be over for the year but there is still plenty going on around the club.

Our Under 11s played on into finals and hosted Mernda in a thrilling elimination final at Hurstbridge.  It was a perfect day for footy as our kids showed heart and determination in spades to come away with a 7-point win.  Standout performances from the game include Jake who led strongly and dominated through the midfield, Ben and Van who both gave solid performances and remained composed under pressure and Lach who showed why he is one of the best forwards in the competition with an unstoppable effort and an incredible 7 goal bag!

The following week they played against Montmorency in the preliminary final and although we unfortunately fell short on the scoreboard the entire team delivered an outstanding performance against a tough opposition.  Every player should be very proud of what they have achieved this season, it has been a huge success and we know the best is yet to come.  Congratulations to game day award winners Ben, Jake and Jett.

On Sunday 31st August we held our Presentation Day at the Kinglake Pub.  It was a fantastic turnout as we celebrated the achievements of our players.  We would like to thank local legend Paul Ray who provided the entertainment for the day. We are very proud to announce the winners as follows:

We are also extremely proud and excited to announce the results from the NFNL 2025 Best & Fairest Night.  It was a fantastic night for the Lakers with several awards going to our players.

We would like to congratulate Lachlan Gellatly who dominated the season including leading goalkicker and winning the U11s Division 4 Best & Fairest by a clear margin.  He was an absolute standout in his first year playing in an eligible age team.  Well done Lachie!

We also congratulate Campbell Manks who backed up last years success to finish 2nd in the U13s Division 3 Best & Fairest.  A shoutout also goes to Harry who polled strongly all season but was unfortunately ineligible, he has had a fantastic season and deserves recognition for the brilliant form he has shown.

In a very special and proud moment for the club we saw Campbell awarded the prestigious Lew Hall Award.  This is one of the NFNLs highest honours which awards community involvement, leadership and character on and off the field.  Congratulations Camo, we could not be prouder!

In other club news we are working with council to lock in details and dates for the Kinglake Memorial Reserve Oval playing surface redevelopment.  Stay tuned as we will communicate details once they are finalized.  This is an exciting project that will provide a brand-new surface featuring new sub-surface drainage, new irrigation system with Smart Control, drought tolerant turf, synthetic cricket pitch and synthetic turf in high traffic areas.

We are also holding our Annual General Meeting on 6th October at the clubrooms at 6.30pm.  Our club runs on volunteers and as we grow we need more help!  Please come along and consider joining our committee if you can volunteer some time or a skill.  For more information, please get in touch via email committee@kinglakejfc.org.au
