FAQs
General Information
-
The Kinglake Junior Football Club is a community-based organisation dedicated to fostering a love for Australian Rules Football among young players in Kinglake and surrounding areas. We provide a fun, inclusive, and supportive environment for kids to develop their skills, build teamwork, and enjoy the sport. Our values are Leadership, Teamwork and Community.
-
We welcome boys and girls aged 7–16 from Kinglake and nearby communities. Our teams are organised by age groups to ensure age-appropriate training and competition.
-
Younger children aged 4-7 are eligible to join our Auskick program. Auskick is an introduction to Australian Football and invaluable life skills.
With game-based activities kids love, learning is disguised as playing. You don’t need Aussie Rules experience — children can start Auskick in the calendar year they turn 5!
-
Training sessions typically take place at the Kinglake Memorial Reserve Oval during the week, with specific days and times varying by team. Home games are held at our ground, while away games are at various venues in the region. See Training & Fixtures for more information.
Registration and Membership
-
Registration information can be found here. You’ll need to provide basic information about your child, including their age and any medical conditions, and pay the registration fee.
-
Fee information can be found here. They contribute towards uniforms, equipment, and league affiliation costs. Financial assistance may be available for eligible families.
-
Our registration fee is heavily subsidised to ensure every kid can play. The true cost to the club per player is approximately $380 per season, covering essentials like training tops, playing jumpers, Thursday night meals for players, league fees, and equipment.
To keep our club financially sustainable, we kindly ask you to consider making a voluntary tax-deductible donation through our Operating and Expansion Fund, hosted by the Australian Sports Foundation (ASF).
Your donation helps bridge the gap beyond our subsidised $100 registration fee, ensuring we can continue providing quality resources and opportunities for all players.
-
The club provides essential team equipment, such as playing jumpers, footballs and training gear. Players are required to have their own boots, mouthguards, helmet, shorts and socks.
Events and Community Involvement
-
Our TAC Road Safety Round is a special event in partnership with the Transport Accident Commission (TAC) to promote road safety, particularly on country roads. It features junior football matches, and appearances by local emergency services who share their work and volunteer opportunities. It’s a fun, family-friendly day to support our players and raise awareness for an important cause.
-
We’re always looking for volunteers to help with coaching, committee, game-day operations, fundraising, and event planning. Parents, guardians, and community members can contact the club to learn about current opportunities. You can also support us by attending games and events or sponsoring the club.
See Sponsors for more information.
